Hi, My shower stopped working the other day and the light on the isolator switch was also off so I opened to have a look. Looks like the brown wire has burnt out as it's now black. Is this going to be a big job or can I just replace the isolator switch. Does it need to be a specific switch as all I see is cooker switches are these the same thing. Manemzjum , Oct 30, Either way, it's a new switch that's needed. It's not whether it's a shower or a cooker What is the power rating of your shower? If it's 12kW you need a 50A switch.

My wholesaler stocks the Crabtree look alike Click shower pull cord switches, which seem okay.

There is absolutely no need to switch it on and off when the shower is used, and when the shower is off there is no current draw.
