Just wondering whether anyone has any recommendations for a multimeter? Something reasonably priced but competent and safe to use on mains. Primarily need AC and DC volts, resistance, continuity audible. Auto ranging preferred. Amp could be handy too, as would temperature but I'd prefer to have something good with the essentials rather than spend the money on nice-to-haves. I bought the cheapo Lap one from SF and so far it's worked pretty ok. It won't deal with all your requirements but I would imagine if you spent a bit more you could get one that does the job. Can anyone reccomend a brand of test leads with crocodile clips which would solve my problem to save me buying another poor set. Do you mean to say that the pair of jaws, both metal, are not connected via a metal 'hinge-pin' and spring? I have no idea of the construction of proper leccy test leads etc, so I'm just asking Mr. HandyAndy - Really.

Hello All, I've got a Ford Connect , I've got a universal kit and a relay by-pass from the suppliers. The only reason I'm doing it myself is that they are fully booked until mid July and I need the trailer next week. I've fitted the tow bar, but all of the wiring for the lights is thin black wiring and there are several wires into each light. Does anyone know where best to connect to???????

We have 7 Megger MFTs and only buy the genuine from an online shop. Should have added that almost all multimeters again except the very cheapest have standard 4mm sockets for test leads. I will try using a length of copper and see if it does any good. Thanks Lee - yes I will have a look around for a decent one, just looked at the Fluke multi meters so will work around a pukka make.. Even cheaper on ebay.
