Hydrographic finishes are robust and will last for years under normal use. However, similar to your car finish, the paint can be damaged if the product is abused. Scratching and notably harsh chemicals can damage the protective clear coat, causing failure of the hydrographic finish. Due to the nature of hydro dipping, there may be minor blemishes. During assembly and testing the only notable spot that will wear over time is the contact point of the mag release rubbing on the stock. Inspiration directly from Ken G — cigars. I actually think his representation is pretty accurate because the magwell of the 41 is steel, and directly in front of the wood. You can see that Ken kept the stock Ruger magwell, and I think likely because of the added complication. Why would I do that and just not copy how Ken wrapped the wood stock around the Ruger stock? You would have to have people send in their stocks to be modified, and I want to eventually sell these to other enthusiasts who may not want to go through the build process. I want them to just be able to bolt it on and go have some fun. I want to start working on it this weekend, so I chose to pick it up. Yesterday it also snowed the 10th most it ever has in Kentucky.
