I recently visited their Manchester venue, located within an old cinema hall in Levenshulme. I feel like the Asian food scene has really improved over the last few years in the city, and Royal Nawaab is no exception to that. The venue gives an incredible first impression, and the building itself is stunning. The restaurant is huge and all of the decor feels so luxurious. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the venue was busy with dining guests as well as weddings.

Pre-Covid the restaurant was always buzzing with diners, as well as catering for weddings in their upstairs suites. With restrictions lifting they are finally back. On entering you cant help but be impressed with its entrance hall, which is gorgeous in design. A side door then leads you into the large banqueting hall where the buffet awaits. Grilled options are also available to order at the counter, like the most tender spiced lamb chops. Or how about treating yourself to a touch of Biryani, the choices are endless. Desserts are also well catered for with the buffet price, from Crumbles to Indian options including Gulab Jamun and one of my Egyptian favorites, Om Ali. All the food we have ever had at Royal Nawaab has been a delight which transports us back to our time living and working in India. Its one of a few places that we enjoy due to its authenticity as well as great service. Drinks are extra of course and there are a range of soft drinks, juices, mocktails and teas and coffees available to choose from while dining. If you are thinking of heading down for brunch this or any other weekend, I would highly recommend their Masala Tea.

This Pakistani restaurant is housed in a vast, three-storey venue that hosts a continuous stream of ostentatious weddings upstairs and has an immense public dining room downstairs which is often packed to the rafters. Apparently, this well-lubricated machine can comfortably feed more than a thousand people in one evening. There are appetisers too, think chicken wings, samosas, pakoras, masala fish and poppadoms, as well as a fresh salad and chutney bar. For dessert, there are Teletubby-coloured ice creams or temple-achingly sweet cakes and halwa. The bar is alcohol-free but suitably extensive and there is also a takeaway menu.
