So this "debate" has gone on for a few years, probably more like 15 or so years now, and I myself have spent a handful of hours of my life going back and forth about it and it tires me. For this reason, I'm making a final reference topic which fully examines the series to decide the objective winner of the fight, and more subjective takes on how each character has won or lost. Specifically, my subjective take at the end so I can link this topic if this debate ever comes up as a comprehensive "my feelings on" post.

Hirokey Well-known member. Like the only addition Xion made to the scene that didn't seem too unnecessary is giving Roxas a reason why he wanted to kill the organization I guess. No you didn't Roxas. He could have used Soul Eater, but its effectiveness would be limited against a keyblade let alone two of them. He charges Riku again for an attack. Hello everybody! As far as I can remember, Riku only fought Roxas once. When was this first encounter? Riku only won to the end because he decided use his SoD powers. We have tons of new awards for the new year that can be requested through our Awards System thanks to Antifa Lockhart! Nomura wanted to change the scene which meant he always intended since KH2 that for whatever reason Roxas would be willingly giving that keyblade to Riku. Because so far Ven is our only instance of a broken heart and it resulted in his near death twice. But then when they put the scene into the game they removed Roxas's target so he was literally throwing his keyblade at nothing which meant the only explanation that now made sense was that Roxas either had a horrible muscle spasm or he threw the keyblade to Riku intentionally. What's interesting is that in KHII, Ansem says he "can only surmise" that Riku lost the first fight, meaning that even according to KHII's version of events, Riku didn't return to the mansion between fights or anything, which is consistent with what Days shows us. I feel like, in such situations, that the game should force you to lose the in-game battle.

Do you consider the story of Kingdom Hearts to be that confusing? Riku was looking to capture, not kill Roxas so has to pull his punches somewhat while Roxas has no such limitation. Sinister Crystal? You're already considered an idiot; just play to type and smile and nod. KMAnsem 10 years ago 10 I have to wonder how much of this we can blame on the localization. That's what they do?
