Rainbow Beach on the west side of St Croix has some of the calmest waters on the island. Our planned snorkeling excursion to Buck Island was cancelled due to wind, rough water and cloudy conditions. We were already in the car but without a plan. We took a chance and headed to West End since we had heard Rainbow Beach was someplace we needed to visit before leaving. There was no wind, the sea was calm and only a couple dozen people on the beach.
