My father bought the remington when he was a kid serial number is with a patent number on the barrel with others pending on the model number it is just I was wondering what kind of value it might be. I am trying to decide to hold on to it and leave it in it's current state or clean it up and start using it for hunting. I can't tell from your serial number when it was manufactured. The barrel date codes should answer that question however. I am fairly certain that it was not an early production gun. As such its value is really as a shooter rather than a collector piece. My thought is that you should use the gun.
