I wanted to pre-order and then I could always ask for a refund but the more gameplay videos I see, the less I want to play it.

Redfall is not fit for public consumption. Redfall is an open-world first-person loot shooter in the vein of Borderlands, but with a bunch of vampires and cultists instead of bandits, and set in a picturesque fictional town off the coast of Massachusetts rather than an arid wasteland. It has four playable characters, each with a magical skill set powered by pesky local pharmaceutical experiments. I primarily played as Layla, a student whose special abilities include a glowing purple umbrella that soaks up bullets and a psychic elevator that propels friends and foes into the sky. Her final ability summons her former boyfriend, a ghostly vampire who shows up to pull focus and deal damage typical ex behavior. I also spent some time with Remi, a support-class character with an adorable robot dog.

I have played Arkane's new co-op vampire loot-shooter Redfall for about five hours. From what I've seen and experienced, the reviews are right : The set design, art, music, sound, and voice acting are all solid, sometimes splendid. But the actual gameplay is mostly uninspired marker quests, inventory stat comparisons, and brain-dead-enemy shooting with awkward-feeling guns.

The closest thing I can equate Redfall to is an expansive immersive-sim sandbox that attempts to keep its narrative front and center. Redfall is definitely not a horde-based co-op shooter akin to Left 4 Dead or Warhammer 40, Darktide — studio director Harvey Smith has already stressed that.

I'm more hopeful than this than i was for deathloop and i ended up really enjoying that game. Released On: May 2, I'm sure I will play this game again and again even it not the best.
