Death was originally not a thing ever since Reapertale was created. But it was born due to the shift of the Balance that kept Reapertale stable. However, as the number of humans grew, the Balance of the world began to skew. With nothing to kill off these beings, the Balance will be tilted and everything will be abrupt into chaos. Asgore, Gerson, and Gaster knew about this risk, so they decided to make the only thing capable of countering life: Death.

He is the god of death alongside his brother, Reapertale Papyrus. He was created by the god of magic, Gaster. Sans was okay with what he had.
