Ragnar the Trader is the drinking horn guy. Using ethically sourced cow horn, Ragnar crafts drinking horns, horn mugs, blowing horns and even horn beard combs. If you're going to be a Viking Over time, I began to craft items to use in and around our living history exhibitions, and that led to selling items. Eventually, I retired from re-enactment life to focus on crafting. Primarily, I work with horn, although I do use leather, wood, iron and pewter too. I utilize a mixture of traditional methods and power tools, and I am completely self taught, primarily through trial and error

All the primal enjoyment of a drinking horn This depiction from Norse Mythology of Yggdrasil, the world tree, encircles a Vegvisir - aka the runic compass - to represent the connectivity of nature and offer protection and good luck when travelling through it. Carved into the horn using a scrimshaw techique, wherein a shallow cut is made and then filled in with paint. This horn tankard holds around a can or bottle of beverage 10 oz or ml , and has a very unique look, with as much character as the man who created it. Great for medieval feasts, Viking binge drinking or just plain enjoying an ale. The cup and handle are made from one piece of horn, with different colors on the front and back sides, and the base is made from a solid piece of wood. It's been sealed water tight with beeswax, and is best with cold drinks. Beer, mead, wine, apple juice This tankard has been finely sanded, and then highly polished, giving it a nice sheen.
