Quelaag
A half-woman, half-spider demon located in a lair near the bottom of Blighttown. One of the Witch of Izalith 's daughters, quelaag, transformed into quelaag monster by the Flames of Chaos. She guards the second Bell of Awakening, and the entrance to her sister's domain.
Chaos Witch Quelaag is a boss in Dark Souls. Quelaag is a daughter of the Witch of Izalith and, along with most of her family, failed to escape from the chaotic flame and was corrupted by it. Due to exposure to the flame, Quelaag and her sister mutated into spider-like creatures with their upper body being fused to the monsters' backs. She is the Fair Lady 's older sister. When their mother, the Witch of Izalith along with their other two sisters became the Bed of Chaos , she fled with her sister. Although their sanity is intact, their lower bodies became bound with demon spiders.

Quelaag was one of the daughters of the Witch of Izalith, one of the lords of Lordran with the power over the Life Soul, one of the Lord Souls that came from the First Flame. As the First Flame started to fade, the witch and her daughters attempted to experiment on the flame to create a duplicate.
It is generally easier to focus quelaag attacking her legs rather than her body, quelaag, as this allows you to retreat more quickly and also avoid getting trapped between her legs and her body when she starts turning or jumps. If you are like me and stuck to her back most of the time, quelaag, you really only died to repeat chains of that one move.
Quelaag once lived with her mother, the Witch of Izalith , and her siblings in the ancient city of Izalith. After the Flame of Chaos incident, all but her sister Quelana were transformed into demons. She and one of her sisters escaped the worst of it, having their lower torsos bound to giant spiders. Fleeing their deranged, demonic kin, they climbed to the base of Blighttown , and Quelaag fashioned themselves a home. Maneater Mildred You must have defeated her Dark Spirit form earlier in the level, within the swamp, to be able to summon her as a white phantom. Her Soul Sign is in front of the fog gate. Note she may use her pounce attack upon engaging you after you enter the fog gate.
Dark Souls is loved by fans around the globe for its sprawling world, unique weapon design, and hands-off storytelling. She can be a major difficulty for most beginners due to her high health, and a lack of early-game tools to mitigate her abilities. Make sure to grab the bonfire between the two jetties in the swamp. Then head to the spider webs and through the fog gate. Before working your way there, there are a few things to grab which will make life easier.

A half-woman, half-spider demon located in a lair near the bottom of Blighttown. One of the Witch of Izalith 's daughters, transformed into a monster by the Flames of Chaos. She guards the second Bell of Awakening, and the entrance to her sister's domain. It may be worth knowing that she only fought you to protect her sister, who is in a permanent coma-like state So when you enter her sister's domain and talk to her, she thinks you are her sister, which is later revealed if you talk to her whilst wearing the Old Witch's Ring. Quelaag slashes in either direction with her sword. Block or roll to avoid these. These slashes are also angled outwards from her human portion and therefore typically miss if you are very close to the spider's head. Not a huge threat.

This attack homes in much more reliably than the slash and deals multiple hits. When their mother, the Witch of Izalith along with their other two sisters became the Bed of Chaos , she fled with her sister. Quelaag will charge up for a longer time and stab with the sword, holding it out for a short duration. Fire Spray On rare occasions, the spider's large abdomen will start to shake and she will spray small clouds of reddish-purple energy around and behind herself in a rough cone shape, similar to but different from, her fire wave attack. Next time though I want to try ranged shooting her with arrows. The children of chaos are hungry; give yourself to Quelaag's flame! Stay away from the front and mind your surroundings. Those who defy the pact Trying to dodge to the sides is very difficult to do successfully. Block or roll to avoid these. Given the rarity of this attack and the fact that anyone behind her in the primary danger zone will not see the windup for it, it can be a real surprise to anyone running up behind her. Chaos Witch Quelaag.
A curved sword born from the soul of Quelaag, daughter of the Witch of Izalith, who was transformed into a chaos demon. Like Quelaag's body, the sword features shells, spikes, humanity and a coating of chaos fire. Power affected by wielder's humanity.
May you feel the depth of our wrath! Should not be a significant threat. When away from her, pick off her health with ranged attacks, while Mildred tanks. Whenever she bends forward and reaches down the sides of the spider's head with her arms she is preparing her large degree AoE attack. Quelaag and one of her sisters escaped their mother's wrath and took refuge in Blighttown, at the cause of their lower bodies being transformed into giant demonic spiders. Would make more sense if her humanoid part had the same skin colour as the one fair lady has. Loadout Try aiming for fire and physical resistance. Your safest strategy is to bait out her lava spew attack, then run around her and attack her back leg. This requires her to turn for all but her flame aura watch for this to hit you, allowing you to get out of range again. She is an effective meat shield and seems oddly resistant to Quelaag's lava and fire wave attack, and helps further by dishing out a not inconsiderable amount of damage. Otherwise, it's looking like I'll have to deathcam skip for this bell or to get to Sen's and come back later. It is possible to get Quelaag stuck on the environment. As such, Mildred 's help can prove invaluable to those otherwise having difficulty. Quelaag will lift four of her legs and slam them back down. Edit as much as you wish, but one little thing
