Louisville, KY is the biggest city in Project Zomboid infested with zombies. It is advised to travel here late game due to the high volume of zomboids and the compact streets of the inner city. One of the largest maps of the game, the city is filled with everything a city needs like shops, offices, homes and many other things, it's also filled with zombified residents. The city was initially outside the quarantine zone during the start of the Knox infection, but eventually zombies overwhelmed the checkpoints that were located near Louisville after noises of riots and conflicts between the military and citizens demanding answers attracted the attention of the zombies nearby. Not long after the checkpoints where overwhelmed the military began setting up checkpoints on bridges leading to the north, not long later panicked citizens of Louisville began fleeing north as the zombies began heading towards the city. As the infection spread through the city, civil unrest ran rampant.
