I would also like to mention the Manager of the restaurant Stawberry Fields, he was very professional and extremely well organised, Especially as it was quite busy all staff were very friendly and helpful. Friendly, professional staff. The hotel was busy but there was no noise disturbance at all. Excellent restaurant facilities on the same site. Excellent parking and plenty of disabled places. There is a lift.. Spotlessly clean rooms and comfy beds.

Room was nice, and clean. Plenty of towels. We were able to check in earlier than the stipulate time Staff were helpful and polite, good customer experience. Easy to find off the roundabout by the big Tesco, not to far away from the local amenities. Having stayed the previous night at the exceptionally good Saffron Walden Premier Inn I was disappointed with Southend. Reception was very busy to start with but not really their fault with a lot of customers arriving at once. Room had a tired feel to it and was not up to the standards of Saffron Walden - the curtains were not proper blacked out and the bathroom had a musty unpleasant smell to it - later I realised there was either no extraction fan or it had broken.

Very professional with a good hint of feel good friendly staff, especially night staff, David Tidd I think that's his last name , and Paul Dave had no problem being asked for help in the middle of the night when required, including opening doors for wheel chair users, finding fresh bedding for the kids etc We received more than we paid for. The disabled room are not suitable for wheelchair users, no raised toilet, no wet room, bed was too low and not enough turning room to help aid in transfers from chair to amenities. But if I'm honest, again the staff 'daytime staff too' made up for this. As for the restaurant I'll stick to Oriental next time, there is no way it was freshly cook - I'm a Chef, but I didn't need to be to know that as for the evening meals - spectacular!! Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Told us the easiest way to get to airport. Always had a smile.

After an hour of driving around trying to find where we could park, even asking a traffic warden who was only on 'transmit mode' and kept repeating it was the hotel we needed to speak to and they must have given us an incorrect code, we parked up outside the hotel where we'd first parked and paid for the parking to 6pm despite being told by the hotel it was to 9pm and as there was a show on at the Cliffs there would be traffic wardens about. We highly recommend this lovely hotel. We enjoy it. Had breakfast in Tesco - quick and much cheaper than next to the hotel. Bathroom was great and extended check out was fab. Mar Well positioned for main roads, town ,airport and public transport. They were always polite and welcoming whenever we saw them. When I left on the Sunday with my fine I counted how many other cars also had a ticket. Room Type. Staff were very attentive.
