Like, really, such smooth fighting requires alot of budget. ETX - Oct 27, Can't wait to see if Ash remembers Serena, the crux of the episode later. From the ice to the webs to everything that happened in this battle, Ash did not get overpowered by a lvl 5 Snivy. They introduce themselves, and Ash apologizes for not noticing her before since he was so into the battle. Ash may of had a chance if he used Fletchling before Pikachu or atleast taught it Aerial Ace before arriving at the Gym. I was expecting that Ash would lose his first gym battle, but it was nice to see Serena catching up with him. With more battle experience Fletchling's battle against Vivillion certainly wouldn't have finished so quickly. I'm not sure if anyone caught on to this but if Ash knew Serena back in their childhood days surely he should have know about the Kalos region when he set sail, due to Professor Oak telling him about it. Whoever wrote this show freshened up the Childhood Friend anime trope in ways I never thought possible. Ash probably doesn't remember Serena cause he's too preoccupied with his gym stuff and all.. We shall wait and see.
