The newest addition to the terrifying roster of Monsters present in Project: Playtime , Boxy Boo uses high mobility to strike at Survivors with blinding speed from seemingly nowhere, as its disguise as a normal jack-in-the-box makes it practically inconspicuous as it lurks in wait for its prey. Despite the damage that may be considered lackluster when compared to the Huggy Wuggy or Mommy Long Legs, Boxy Boo has access to abilities that capitalize on the inherent panic that overcomes players during a pursuit. Unique passive skills also allow Boxy Boo to traverse sections of maps usually restricted to other monsters. The primary strategy that players should consider when selecting Boxy Boo as their monster of choice in this asymmetrical survival-horror game involves using speed from Coil Springs , taking advantage of distance with Leap , sensing Survivors using Music Box , and disrupting escape with Grab. Unlike Mommy Long Legs, Boxy Boo's stealth comes from being mistaken as part of the decorum of a map, taking down one target all at once through patient camping. When paired with the right Sabotages , Boxy Boo transforms from a nuisance into a terrifying and powerful monster opponent in Project: Playtime that could attack the six Survivors at any time. The passive ability of Boxy Boo is the Coil Springs , which actively increases the jump height of the monster while also decreasing their fall speed. Players are able to use this skill to jump above obstacles that would otherwise stall monsters such as Huggy Wuggy, whose enormous height typically is their greatest disadvantage. For example, the ledge leading to the stage on the Theater map can be a safe haven for Survivors, but a clever Boxy Boo may easily pursue players who flee to this spot using Coil Springs, continuing the chase relentlessly. The Coil Springs not only bolster Boxy Boo's movement speed, but also their attack speed against Survivors and objects.
