The streets of Rome are an absolute joy. Mr John and I visited Rome on our honeymoon and it blew us away. None the less, our apartment was very central pizzeria da bafeto located right next door to a famous Rome, family run pizzeria: Baffetto.

Everyone from local students to international movie stars line up outside Baffetto's doors for what just may be the best Roman-style pizza in town. Well, the movies stars don't bother lining up. Last time I was there, Jeff Goldblum marched straight to the front of the long line and waltzed right in like he owned the place. One small room, lined with white ceramic tiles and snapshots of celebrity patrons, wraps around the wood-fired brick oven just inside the entrance, while two more dining rooms are squirreled away upstairs. This is a pizzeria, not a restaurant, so all they do is the traditional Roman crisp, thin-crust pizza.

We have been there a late night, it was almost closing, and we got the last round of services. The pizza is very delicious, the dough is very thing but the taste is great as well as the ingredients. Atmosphere inside is cozy, though we We were here for a nice evening with good pizza. In the end we did get a really nice pizza, but the staff was absolutely terrible. We made a reservation for a big table but got three different small ones, and when we asked about Since year from time to time we have had pizzas in Baffetto, because the pizzas has been always so delisious. Today our pizzas were burnt and I saw it was the same also in other tables. The restaurant is small and gets warm in the summer if you sit inside. The pizza is nothing special and the mozarella cheese is imo poor quality.
