We got a bird at Petco and it lived a very long life, it was extremely beautiful, healthy, smart and very loving, in fact it was the most human loving keet I have ever encountered. Sparky was extremely bonded with 4 different people and just loved to sit with you, preen your hair, she chirped all day and was super intelligent. She ended up dying from an ovarian tumor which is very common in birds, no matter where they come from, even breeders have birds all the time die from cancer and tumors. Sparky lived a good life and survived with her tumor for a long time, for a while it didn't affect her at all, but once it started affecting her perching abilities and breathing abilities, we decided to have her put to sleep, one of the hardest decisions and owner can make, we just didn't want her to suffer, she deserved better than that. He said she might live another couple weeks, but she was weak, couple barely perch and was breathing heavily the day we took her in. Needless to say she was an amazingly strong bird, not many would live as long as she did with such a bad problem. And I have friends with birds from Petco that are very healthy friendly and have had no problems. I think it is rude and close minded of you guys to say that all petco's are terrible, in fact it makes no sense at all. If there was one store maybe but there is hundreds if not more and every single one has different employees and different cages and they get their animals from different breeders, so how in the world can you say Petco is bad just because the one that is near you is not taken care of well?

Anyways I just had to say that, it is very unfair to judge all petcos by your experience at one. So if you want to complain about a certain store you can do so but list it with its address, because it is wrong to say that all petcos are bad just because they one near you is no good.
