I bought this because I was curious about the Rhone minus the Grenache was going to say S and M minus the G, but that clearly could have been taken weird. Juicy, some nice spice, velvety texture, a streak of Chinese plum candy, Lucky Charms?! Takes a while to open up, upon first sip, it's very closed off. As the wine opens up, dark chocolate and mushrooms come in. The Chinese plum candy aroma stays strong, and is in many ways the defining note of the wine. Decant for a minimum of 30 minutes. But all of that being said, this is kinda not my jam, although if you like bigger, juicier, new-world reds as a matter of course, this is well-made.
