The standard Peg 4 Trail was well received in our multi-tester reviewpegasus gore tex I was eager to see how this GTX incarnation would hold up. The upper, apart from the obvious Gore-Tex Invisible Fit addition, is quite different from the original version: gone are the Flywire holding the laces, replaced by loops already seen on TK8 and Zegama, and a semi-gaiter ankle collar has been added to limit debris and water entrance. He tells me she responded every time just fine and that Nike was working on further improvements, confirmed at the recent The Running Event with Nike that the GTX rubber is indeed different, pegasus gore tex, tackier and softer.
An essential go-to for outdoor sports sessions, the Nike Pegasus Trail 4 Gore-Tex shoe returns in a more durable version to delight trail runners everywhere. It is versatile and gives you excellent performance from tarmac to rocky trails. Designed to energise your stride, the midsole is equipped with Nike React foam, a lightweight cushioning capable of absorbing shock to propel you at speed thanks to a responsive energy return. The waterproof Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane helps you keep going confidently when the rain shows up. Lightweight and breathable, it's complemented by a gaiter that reinforces your protection against water and debris. Cut out for adventure, the upper has 3D TPU prints on the toe to protect you from debris and improve durability. The redesigned rubber outsole gives you reliable grip on your routes as well as wear resistance in key areas.

When you buy something through our retail links, we may earn a commission. I recently started hiking and trail running as a way to decompress and unplug after my long, busy weeks. So I was curious: Would this shoe look good with my everyday fits and protect me on my adventures despite gloomy forecasts? I decided to give them a go to see for myself. I tried out a pair in Barbie pale pink and sophisticated teal, which looked super chic and even garnered a bunch of compliments. I have to say, though, their streamlined look, especially around the toe box, worried me a little bit, since I have wide feet. Still I laced them up and got to testing. Upon first wear, they fit snugly with about a half inch at the top of the sneaker to allow room for my feet to breathe and wiggle around a bit. Though I was nervous about their narrow width, they still worked out for me because of their stretchy lining. They were also very cushiony, making them feel extra comfy for those longer trails. I took these out on muddy terrain for a minute trail jog. Not only did they exceed those expectations, but they even provided some extra surprises—like preventing rocks and pebbles from slipping into my sock thanks to the lining on the back of the sneaker. These sneakers help me live out my dreams of being a city girl who dips and dabbles in adventurous activities like trail runs on wet and muddy terrains while looking very cute. I highly recommend it! I believe the broad toebox, good ground feel under the forefoot , and new outsole read on helps with that. Traction: 9 recent Nike upgrade that performs well on a variety of surfaces. The Peg Trail 4 in 9. Even on warmer days however and even a recent day spent wearing them for a visit to the office in Salt Lake City, they were not overly warm or clammy. It achieves this nice compromise with a very soft and comfortable upper despite the additional GoreTex Invisible Fit upper. The cushion feels mid-range and in the forefoot protection and smoothness is a bit lacking for me on road, but ample on trail. However, I like it for walking and it is more stable as well as more locked-in for mountainous terrain. The GTX upper is great for snow and slush on single track and gravel and provides some breathability. There was no indication of recycled content on the box, however, but things are still going in the right direction for sustainability.

Mike P: After being a bit disappointed with recent Nike trail offerings, the recently tested Zemaga started to turn the tide for me. It is not even remotely close to the Peg4 Trail GTX in terms of versatility, energetic smooth ride and overall comfort-due to the tighter toebox. It is a lightweight midsole with good energy return that feels good underfoot without being super plush. The white upper may not stay clean very long, but even with some mud thrown on it, the Pegasus Trail 4 just shines in this colorway. It has good energy return but not in the bouncy sense—it is quick to respond at faster paces as well as far from mushy. All that said, this is a road-to-trail shoe and because it runs so great on trail, I think the outsole is less appreciated than it should be. Anon, haha, beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. The looks! Lack of reflective elements. John : If you are a heel or midfoot striker or someone who likes to run uphill, this shoe seems well designed for you. But the GTX may be a bit warm, so depends on the weather too. At fast paces on smooth terrain, it ran very well, especially given the moderately high weight though light for a waterproof trail shoe. I will just mention that the size US 9. John : The React midsole is soft, springy, cushy, but definitely not mushy.
It not absolutely approaches me. Who else, what can prompt?
