Most tasks outside of combat are accomplished using skills.
Skills represent a creature's ability to perform an ordinary task, such as climb a wall, sneak down a hallway, or spot an intruder. The number of ranks possessed by a creature in a given skill represents its proficiency in that skill. Pathfinder: Kingmaker uses a modified version of the Consolidated Skills Optional Rules from the pen-and-paper Pathfinder game. Each skill has an associated ability score. The associated ability score modifier is added to all skill checks. An Intelligence of 7 -2 modifier, the lowest possible for most starting characters would grant one fewer skill rank every level. Humans and Half-Orc s get one extra skill rank at every level.

Role : More than capable of upholding the honor of their deities in battle, clerics often prove stalwart and capable combatants. As their powers are influenced by their faith, all clerics must focus their worship upon a divine source. While the vast majority of clerics revere a specific deity, a small number dedicate themselves to a divine concept worthy of devotion—such as battle, death, justice, or knowledge—free of a deific abstraction. Work with your GM if you prefer this path to selecting a specific deity. In addition, each character begins play with an outfit worth 10 gp or less. Clerics are proficient with all simple weapons , light armor , medium armor , and shields except tower shields. Clerics are also proficient with the favored weapon of their deities. Converting an NPC to your faith is similar to modifying their reaction with Diplomacy. You can only attempt to convert NPCs who are at least indifferent toward you, though you can take time to make a hostile or unfriendly NPC indifferent, and then begin the process of conversion.
