Passengers was a one-album side project for U2, consisting of that band's members and Brian Eno. The group came together in , recording Passengers: Original Soundtracks as a tribute to their favorite film soundtracks. The album was quite experimental for the group, even featuring a collaboration between the five men and Luciano Pavarotti on one track. The liner notes of the album are filled with in-jokes, and the music was nothing like U2's previous output, so many fans felt alienated by the project and the album flopped. English singer-songwriter Passenger has released thirteen studio albums and 17 singles. Rosenberg first performed in public when he was The five-person band's debut and only album, Wicked Man's Rest , was released in Rosenberg wrote the majority of the album's tracks, with the exception of "Four Horses", which was written by Phillips. The band broke up in After the break-up of Passenger, Rosenberg kept the stage-name Passenger and took to busking for a solo music career. Songs for the Drunk and Broken Hearted is the twelfth studio album by English singer-songwriter Passenger. Recording started in and the album released on 8 January by Black Crow Records. A tree will be planted for every physical copy of the album sold via the Passenger store. Before releasing Songs for the Drunk and Broken Hearted , Passenger wrote and recorded his standalone record, Patchwork during the coronavirus lockdown , alongside producer Chris Vallejo and guest musicians Andrew Phillips formerly of the band Passenger alongside Rosenberg and Richard Brinklow. Mike Rosenberg confirmed that the album was originally in process of recording back before the coronavirus pandemic.
