Ok, so my intrepid is stumping me hard on this. It will crank and start perfectly fine.

Although it is a generic code, the specific repair steps may vary depending on the year, make, model, and powertrain configuration of the vehicle. When a code P is stored, it indicates that the powertrain control module PCM has detected an abnormality in the relay that supplies it with voltage. In this case, the relay sensor circuit is open, which can be interpreted as disconnected. It is a contact type relay that is activated by a signal wire from the ignition switch. This type of relay typically has a five-wire design. One wire carries constant battery voltage, another wire is for ground, a third wire carries a signal from the ignition switch, a fourth wire supplies voltage to the PCM, and the fifth wire is the power relay sense circuit. The PCM uses the power relay sense circuit to monitor the voltage of the power relay. If the PCM detects an open power relay sense circuit, it will store a code P and may illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp MIL. A P code should be considered severe and addressed accordingly. Delayed or no start Inoperative electrical accessories Engine drivability issues.
Check it before a good startup. P0688 chrysler checked the car over and was not really able to find a good source of the problem. While we always recommend seeking professional mechanical assistance to resolve this issue, if that is not possible, p0688 chrysler, we offer the option to permanently delete this specific DTC.

P is a relatively rare OBD2 trouble code. This includes the Chrysler PT Cruiser. If your PT Cruiser is still running with this code, we strongly recommend against driving with it. If the PCM power relay fails, your vehicle will not run properly. They stand for engine control module and powertrain control module, respectfully. An open circuit is a circuit that has not been completed.

P is a relatively rare OBD2 trouble code. While any car or truck can have this code, it is most prevalent in vehicles made by Chrysler. If your vehicle is still running with this code, we strongly recommend against driving with it. If the PCM power relay fails, your vehicle will not run properly.

Battery is relatively new, charged it up and is having a similar issue. Check the running pressure. Fuel pressure will be good to know. If you find a relevant TSB, it may provide helpful diagnostic information. I ordered the following sensors, crankshaft position, camshaft position, oil sender, and 4wd switch sensors. When the ECM is sent a signal that is outside of present manufacturer parameters, a code P code can be stored. Maybe I'm off base, but why aren't these issues being addressed under the Lemon laws? It is the grounds at the engine block near the oil filter, G Check it before a good startup. It took me 15 minutes cleaning the ASD relays. Relay clicks, fuel pump hums, then relay clicks again. As far as I know the PCM should be controlling the 2 relays grounds through the same circuit but may be wrong. Send a private message to dcotter
If this happens to your ride, we get your concern, but the key piece of advice is not to drive around too much with the code and figure out a solution quickly. Find out more about OBD2 codes research process.
Performed TSB 25 07 because the emissions system was not passing smog. I'm betting they never figure it out. Jeep drove perfect after this, for about miles, even passed smog in flying colors. Now, the plan is to replace the wiring harness. Delayed or no start Inoperative electrical accessories Engine drivability issues. I verified the relay clicks when the jeep is put to the run position. It was raining here then, but not heavily and I didn't drive through and deep standing water. Remember me. When the ECM is sent a signal that is outside of present manufacturer parameters, a code P code can be stored. Mine stalled out again yesterday just as I was entering the turning lane to go into my work parking lot. Please help!!!!
I thank for the information. I did not know it.
