I felt like the author was winging a lot of this as chapters were being drawn.

It may be one of the most depressing manga out there, but if you can handle that kind of story as well as many mature themes and some nudity, then I highly recommend Oyasumi Punpun. Jun 27, AM. Where's the growth? Love it 0. Punpun is your average Japanese person aside from the slightly inflated psychological issues at times but still never something that real humans have not experienced. I remember the void it left, the emptiness that seemed to echo the hollowness of the characters' lives. Also, this manga is very mature and occasionally contains nudity, but it is never used as fanservice and is only used to increase the darkness of situations and to expand on the imperfections of the characters. With everything that had happened in his past set behind him Punpun goes on to work a stable job and live the "normal" life that he had no opportunity to live before. The artstyle was unusual for me, since I am used to all beautiful characters, with no flaws and the way that every different person was drawn in Oyasumi Punpun, with their flaws showing only made it more interesting to read and tought me that no one is actually perfect and even those with imperfections can reach a lot with their hard work. We all had weird childhood dreams.
Many stories, many art styles, many genres and demographics. This stack also includes manga that are not listed as "Psychological" in mal database but they still have psychological elements in them E. Shoujo Fujuubun.
This time around, I still feel the same way but finishing BoJack Horseman before rereading Punpun didn't leave me anywhere near as hopeless as I felt back then. But you know in between that work of art and yourself is this human being, who, after being moved by said work of art so immensely, decides that he has to say something about it. While I consider the story to not be on par with its art work and characterization I also understand that is where it had to go and to end the story much earlier would warrant a lower rating and be a disservice to the message of the story. And afterwards Punpun and Aiko and Seki and Harumi and Sachi and Midori and Yuuichi are all real live breathing moving figments that live and breathe in your head because of how all their troubles and worries and actions seems to just absolutely strike this indefinable deep chord within you. Literally perfect in every way possible. It's a raw, unfiltered dive into the darkest corners of human experience, and it leaves an indelible mark on the soul of its readers. There genuinely is so much more that I could talk about as far as the manga is concerned, but I couldn't possibly fit all of the minutiae I wanted to touch upon. I can't stand by hearing everyone call this the best manga ever It does it in a way that readers sit and question what life is really about. The story is very well developed and is partially due to its long timeline spanning from Punpun's life in elementary school to his early 20's. The story relies a lot on the reader thinking. As someone whose gone through some similar experiences and has major mental illness issues myself it felt very jarring to see experiences like mine written so pretentiously to the point it felt unrelatable to me. Spread the word I guess.
I apologise, but it not absolutely approaches me. Perhaps there are still variants?
It agree, very useful message
