If you need help finding your ONT, look for a white box labelled "Openreach" mounted to a wall within your property usually on the ground floor.

I was wondering whether anybody here has experienced the same thing around getting their fibre activated. I placed the order on the 1st, the engineer came out on the 15th, but he said there was no light in the box - "you have to call Openreach or your ISP". Phoned vodafone, and they confirmed that they "currently have a problem in the network resulting in light loss along the fibre route". Ok, fine. I asked for a resolution date, and I got the 23rd.

One aspect of the installation is a wall mounted modem known as an ONT — Optical Network Terminal , which goes between the fibre connection outside and your router. This is what it should look like…. Underneath the box, from left to right, are 3 connectors — power, LAN out, optical fibre in, That middle one is the one that goes to your router. I tried to fix the problem but rebooting the devices, but wasn't fixed. Information is inaccurate. Reconnect the power cable again and your ONT should take around 30 seconds to come back online. The "LOS" light on the white OpenReach box on the wall has turned red, the "Internet" light on the black Sky rooter is off and the "voice" light is orange. Update: Phoned up Vodafone. You're dependent now on openreach pulling their finger out and sorting it, but experience tells us they're hardly open and definitely not reachable.
