One of the things we do really well here in Maine is put on a festival. If you think about it, most of our summers and part of every other season are taken up by festivals. While most of our festivals are about food The Maine Lobster Festival and the Yarmouth Clam Festival, to name a few , others are about our culture. Some are even just an excuse to drink beer and listen to music. The event, which always takes place on a Saturday in July, highlights what an awesome small city Hallowell, Maine is. Each year, there is a parade, live music, food, a 5K, and an epic fireworks display shot off over the Kennebec River. We have not gotten a specific schedule But, if it is anything like years past, we can expect it to be a Saturday FILLED with fun for the entire family - and some adult events, too.
