Odylique brand - the name derived from the meaning of "power of nature" - was born in and was originally called Essential Care. The whole story began in the s, when the founder Margaret began to produce natural skin care products. Conventional products disagreed with her allergic and sensitive skin. She felt there had to be a healthier and more effective way to make skincare than using petroleum and artificial additives. So, armed with qualifications in herbal medicine and aromatherapy, and a passion for the genius of nature, she set about creating truly effective formulations, based only on organic herbs, plant oils and natural active ingredients that were compatible with the most sensitive skin. In the s she was one of the few first ones, if not the first, pioneers of organic and natural skincare makers in the UK. Every single product is cruelty-free meaning, no animals were harmed in the process of making of any of our products. Whilst all of our products are vegetarian, a few are not classed as vegan. The only ingredients we use that are classed as non-vegan are organic honey and beeswax. However, many vegans are still happy to use them, depending on the individual.
