It is a dramatic design feature that we like, but it does mean the longer irons have bulge behind the head that you can see at address that may put some people off. At impact this also meant that the mid and long irons also sounded a bit hollow which may put some purists off. However the oversized heads were very easy to get up and away on a mid to high ball flight and we felt the forgiveness was excellent. The NexCor face did seem to give a little more ball speed and together with the stronger lofts, the Nike VRS irons do deliver distance. Bought a second hand set and am thoroughly enjoying them. Still however adjusting to the stronger lofts and the gap they have caused between PW and my LW. I have been searching for a well balanced, straight hitting high launch iron set.
