The first game in the series, Nekopara Vol. An anime television series adaptation by Felix Film premiered from January to March Nekopara is a visual novel series, so the majority of the gameplay consists of the player reading the game's story. Nekopara does not offer choices to the player throughout gameplay, and the player has no influence over the story. The games are fully voiced except for the protagonist and utilize a system called "E-mote" that allows the in-game characters to be animated, instead of stationary sprites. The characters will react in different ways depending on where the player pets them. This prequel to Vol.

One afternoon, when Chocola goes out for an errand, she notices a green-haired kitten alone by herself at a park and decides to bring her back to the patisserie. Soon after, the Minazuki household adopts her and gives her a name: Cacao. With a new member in their family, the members of the Minazuki household continue their everyday lives—bound to become livelier than ever. When he tried to send them back, they begged and pleaded until he gave in and now they've opened La Soleil together. With two nekos who really, REALLY love their master trying their very best and occasionally failing -- a heartful comedy opens for business!
