What brand do you prefer? Just for the record - I am not trying to argue, or trying to convince everyone to use 10W60 oils. The top half of the engine gets the liquid cooling, the bottom half just sits in the wind. The advisor stated that, because the nc engines do not work at temperatures where 60 weight oil is designed to be most efficient, it will not circulate as well as a lighter weight oil and therefore is not ideal. Specially during that time, I was glad that I was using 10W Hondas especially needs thinner oils due to the lower engine tolerances, hence the 5W30 specification in the manuals. The filters were from hipro - and I used the "RC" part so I could use the 17mm hexagon to tighten it up. In Halfords the other day I saw 4 litres of Castrol 1 on the shelf in both 10w30 and 10w40, and at the same price - so it isn't a price or availability question. Yeah full synth 10w40 for me cos i can use it in both bikes. I suppose this must be driving the different upper temperatures for oil effectiveness.
