Mtg dominus lore
All will be one! Since the fall of Mirrodin, New Phyrexia has bloomed into its own biomechanical society.
Wizards of the Coast has included five new Magic: The Gathering living monuments within the Phyrexia: All Will Be One set called Dominus, showcasing legendary horrors with powerful stats, abilities, and a means to become Indestructible. Formerly known as the Mirrodin, Phyrexia has become a plane that is constantly evolving and growing in the image of the five Praetors who rule it. To showcase this evolution, the design team created a cycle of Dominus, living monuments of Compleated beings that pay tribute to their Praetor while having an unknown purpose on the plane itself. Each Dominus is represented in one of the five MTG colors with a casting cost of two pips in that color, along with mana of any color. The first ability on each Dominus doubles an effect. And the second activated ability contains Phyrexian mana and an action to give the Dominus Indestructible.

When Phyrexia reshaped the surface of Mirrodin, parts of the very land took on a mind of its own. No one knows what the Domini are or whether they think and desire the same way other Phyrexians do. Drivnod grew out of the skeletal, necrogen -drenched architecture of the Dross Pits. He is a grinning, spiked titan who takes pleasure in torturing lesser life forms. He impales his victims on his staff and conducts them like an orchestra in a symphony of agonized screams. At rest, his burnished bones shift and murmur in the wind. His staff is a towering, razor-edged monolith, and the bodies of skitterlings, aspirants - including Belaxis , and a single Phyrexian priest hang from it. Each of them was chosen and placed with care, as the dominus craves their screams of agony. MTG Wiki Explore. Explore Wikis Community Central. Don't have an account? Current Wiki. Start a Wiki.
It drives you to your knees. That, combined with the ease with which it folds underneath you, mtg dominus lore, stays your hand for long enough to get a look at it. You weren't prepared for someone with his kind of strength.
You stand at the base of the vault, staring up the steaming shaft wall. You can smell the necrogen from here, at the Basilica's summit. Little eddies of it swirl above you, like figures beckoning you up. Movement between the spheres is heavily monitored, but this shaft is far enough on the outer reaches that no one will be watching. At least, no one with a hope of stopping you.

A few flaps are enough to propel you up into the shaft, splitting the necrogen clouds, leaving a trail in your wake. Nothing challenges you, though a couple skitterlings clinging to the slick walls turn to you with rumbling growls that quickly become pathetic screams as you separate their heads from their bodies with a sweep of your spear.

These structures are living entities created by Phyrexian Aspirants who have been perfected, although the objective of the Dominus remains a mystery. The Dominus that have been created for each of the five Praetors are a part of the Phyrexian landscape, which like the plane has been Compleated. It is called the singing Dominus, containing multiple mouths around the structure. Players can also opt to use Mondrak, Glory Dominus in builds that produce Artifact tokens since the Dominus can protect itself by sacrificing those tokens in addition to an activated ability cost. That's useful for something like this, but your back might start hurting. Slobad now toils for the compleation of the Multiverse, convinced that Phyrexia has reunited him with his friends. There is no latch, no lock. Instead, you kneel before Atraxa, the Grand Unifier, and the reason for which you draw breath. What is a half-compleated weakling doing in a place like this? He's speaking the same drivel Belaxis did, trying to trick you.

Never satisfied by felling targets one by one, she found a way to make phyresis work to her advantage. Chiss-Goria is one of the few remaining dragons from the original Mirrodin. Are all aspirants so lively? After a moment, you realize it must be yours. It is a short flight away from Geth's tower, and you no longer care who sees you. When the Coven's leader, Vraan, discovered the power of Phyrexianization, he and his followers welcomed it with open arms. You've spent the last few days in the poisonous chill of the Surgical Bay, sitting and watching as your creation is made manifest. An ugly, rotting thing in the center of an otherwise serviceable body. But unlike the other thanes, who prefer violent subjugation, Geth uses backhanded, binding magical contracts to enslave his subjects. Nobody was foolish enough to try. Mirrodin's levelers were giant, merciless creatures created by Memnarch to wreak terror across the plane at his behest. You consider this new option. You don't meet anyone quite as odd or talkative on your way through Lord Geth's holding, but you do see more aspirants than you have in a long time. You are still a long way from a last resort. And yet, as your throat knits itself closed, you feel the give of the flesh beneath your fingertips, the dully glowing eyes going cloudy.
