Outer Wilds was an experience that cultivated wanting more. It was the special type of game where I had landed on something that was so refreshing compared to the modern landscape. It sits well with me considering the type of experience Outer Wilds was. According to an interview published in Edge Magazine with Alex Beachum and Loan Verneau co-creative leads , nothing definitive has be pushed to the public but several things are being toyed with. The team seems to be openly heard and design ideas are regularly drawn from them. I think this a big reason why Outer Wilds hit so damn hard. I see this as incredibly alluring, and something that I think the team really nailed in Outer Wilds. This is so, so hard to nail in media, but I always appreciate when someone takes a swing. Deadlines are the natural order of things, but I hope they can take as much time as they need to settle into something. Lover of games, tech, nature, and strange electronic music.

Outer Wilds is a action-adventure game developed by Mobius Digital and published by Annapurna Interactive. The game features the player character exploring a planetary system stuck in a minute time loop that ends with the sun going supernova. The player explores the system on foot and in a small spacecraft, investigating the alien ruins of the Nomai and finding their history and the cause of the time loop. The game began development in as director Alex Beachum's master's thesis, integrating several concepts he had developed while at school. He was inspired to create a game focused on exploration rather than traditional gameplay elements like resources or conquering, and in which the player character was not the center of the game world. Beachum led a small team in building the game, first as an independent project, then as a commercial game at Mobius after the project won the Excellence in Design and Seumas McNally Grand Prize awards at the Independent Games Festival. Annapurna joined the project as the publisher in and funded its expansion beyond a student project. An expansion which explores further themes in a new location in the planetary system, Echoes of the Eye , was begun in and released for the same platforms in Outer Wilds was positively received upon release, with most critics acclaiming its design and some criticising the uneven difficulty of gameplay and pursuing the game's mysteries. Echoes of the Eye was also positively received, with some criticism for its introduction of horror elements.

Additionally, the loop resets after 22 minutes regardless, as the sun abruptly goes supernova , killing the Hatchling. Upon reaching the system and discovering that the Eye heralded the end of the universe, they destroyed their monuments to the Eye and constructed a device to block its signal from other races.
