Review by: J13 — Updated Pros: Mizuno has hit a home run with these irons. My most recent set of Mizunos were the MPs. The MPs are certainly softer than the average forging, but the MPs just seem to melt at impact, like a hot knife through warm butter. Also the modern sized head and one of the best sole designs on record makes this a gem. Bottom Line: Mizuno moved forward by looking behind. It took the feel that got Mizuno to the big dance and paired that up with the latest technology in forgiveness for a players iron.

They're awesome. That was a no from me, dawg. While the 8-PW are grain-flow forged from E, the 4- to 7-irons are forged from chromoly steel and outfitted with microslots. I guess the will feel a little bit different. But what do people think: is there any improvement whatsoever in terms of performance? Despite my failed dalliance with the Srixons, I'm not emotionally attached to gaming the MP64s forever. I love indulging in golf clubs — I also have a set of is which are great in a different way, that I am thinking about gaming this season. And a set of MP33s. What do you think? Has there been any significant improvement from MP64 to Pro in 10 years? I don't want to hear "try it and see if you like it! JOVortex 9 posts. Tree Levino 4 posts. NZ 4 posts. February 1,

In the golf world these days, everything is about advertising. Every few months one company or another is debuting the latest and greatest in golf technology. It is promised that this new technology will add an insane amount of distance to your game as well as being even more forgiving than whatever is in your bag. Mizuno Golf, for the most part, has not really followed this route. Of course they advertise, but more than most companies, they let their products speak for themselves.

The arrival of new Mizuno irons is only slightly less predictable than Old Faithful. You can be all but certain that as the leaves are starting to turn, Mizuno will introduce 2 new sets of MP series irons. Sure, they threw us a curveball when the MP-H4s showed up instead of the MP, but otherwise, Mizuno releases run like clockwork. Fortunately, where Mizuno is concerned, predictable is anything but boring. The company has a well-earned reputation for producing some of the best, if not the best feeling irons in golf, and year after year each release not only looks great, they perform. For me, Mizuno releases are among the most anticipated of any golf season. The beauty is in the simplicity of the design.

These forged irons were historically reserved for the better golfers. Now, Mizuno offers different designs for all levels of skill.

I am going to keep the same shafts I currently use and see how it goes. Both better players and mid-handicap golfers looking to improve will appreciate the feedback these clubs provide. These can be combined with the new H4 irons as a long iron replacements if you struggle with the long irons, which give extra forgiveness and higher launch. I am actually somewhat convinced the MP 64's still perform in today's game probably very similar to the JPX tour. I will try and see if I can locate both a 5 iron and 9 iron to see if a full set might be a winner for me. One other note was that the M2 had a clicky feel at impact. Outside of maybe the look of the PW down by the ball those may be some of the best Mizuno irons in terms of combination of looks, feel and playability. Actually, they feel almost like nothing. Luke Donald does in fact change irons more than you think so the fact that he switched to these is no surprise. Chrome finish at address is not an issue in even direct sunlight for me — Feels and sounds quite nice to my ears at impact. NZ Posted February 1, Conclusion In the end, I have found that these are a pretty good set of clubs for me.
James recognised the classic Mizuno shape from the top straight away. A nice shade of grey on the face and feels soft yet powerful off it. The flight was penetrating and balls were easy to control.

I did some smooth swings and then very aggressive swings and was a little amazed at this iron. JOVortex Posted February 2, Tempted to just pull the trigger on the s with Project X LZ 6. I can control trajectory just as easy as a blade without question, as it appears to me that the center of gravity is not buried deep in the sole of the club like most cavity backs on the market. Picked By easyyy , February Medium flat trajectory. The MPs are beautiful.
