Parent and Kid Reviews on. This film was everything you want in a summer spy thriller action film. There are chase scenes and stunts that take your breath away. There are double crosses and mask reveals that are interesting and fun. There are new characters that are intriguing and gritty. There is the old team that you want to spend time with. And there is Tom Cruise holding it all together as only he can. The film is fun, the pacing makes the 2 hours and 45 minutes fly by and you are invested in the characters onscreen. When we watch this film, we're not asking ourselves "why" or "how"
Parent and Kid Reviews on. I have 2 boys ages 10 and almost 7. I care a lot about making sure they don't see a lot of sexual content. This movie has none. I don't like a lot of swears, but a few slipping in here and there are ok. The language in this movie is very mild.
Two minutes into the scene, he walks over to the Russian, drugs him till he passes out, and then pulls off the mask, dramatically revealing the face of a slightly flushed and rumpled Cruise. Shortly after that first reveal, the walls of the room fall outward into a warehouse, which makes for a bigger reveal: The whole scene was faked. Not only was the now-immobilized Russian hoodwinked, but the audience was tricked into believing their senses. For us, the moment is delightful; for the laid-out man, not so much. A Brian De Palma movie indeed.
