Energy Tanks as seen in Super Metroid. Energy Tanks appear in almost every Metroid game and are metroid 2 energy tanks for survival. While some can be found in open areas and are easy to obtain, some are well hidden and require extensive searching to find. The more Energy Tanks Samus collects, the more damage she can withstand before dying.

If you fire again at an enemy while they're frozen they'll explode. When collected, they will also fully restore her energy reserves.

All story elements are non-canon. The electrical field in the room means that Samus cannot use her Power Bombs unless she is outside the field or within one of two "safe zones", but she can obtain this Tank before the Gravity Suit. After you break through the two sets of floors, find the weak spot in the third floor and break through as well. The next room has that pesky purple gas. Laying another Bomb will bring her inside the boxed-in area where this Tank is kept. This Tank is found afterward, at the bottom of a short shaft.
