I just picked up a 6. The previous owner said the rear seal went out while he was mudding his truck. Soon as he saw the oil pressure drop he shut it down. The cylinders appear to be fine still. I took the heads off to check them out. I figure it was worth it. I want to put new forged pistons, rings, rods, and a new crank in. He kept the stock intake off of the motor.

I will also be posting costs and part 's to help others with their own swap. My goal is to build a turbo setup with a mostly stock motor, while building "big" for when I build a ci forged shortblock motor heads, cam, intake, etc. Looking to run anywhere in the 9's with the stock motor while trying to buy most parts ONCE for when my goal turns into mid 8's with the built motor. I wouldn't call this a budget build staying away from the really cheap sketchy stuff

At this stage in life, I'd normally send the car to my trusty mechanic to have it transformed while I remain clean and happy.

Personally I'd take the rods and pistons and gap the stock rings, make sure the bearings look good and slap the bottom end back together with all oem everything, including the oil pump.
