Bar a few select specialties across the city, and Sushi Sundays my weekly food court Sushi Hub meal before doing groceriesmy partner is hard pressed to get me to try new Asian restaurants. The new Parramatta Square precinct lilymu photos actually beautiful. Not quite a second CBD in my humble opinion, but pretty damn nice so far. Lilymu faces the middle of the square, lilymu photos, with huge windows.

Lilymu is a contemporary pan-Asian restaurant now open in Parramatta Square combining influences from China and South East Asia with an innovative Asian-inspired menu. Executive Chef Brendan Fong's menu boasts a selection of snacks and larger share plates, including Tom Yum prawn dumplings with soy and lime dressing; pippies with XO sauce and kaffir lime; red curry of scampi with betel leaves, and a selection of desserts. Pure joy as you wake to the sunrise. Awe as you make it to the snowy peak. A sense of adventure as you motor across red plains. The relief of rejuvenation as you wade into an alpine stream.

Unexpected combinations and cookery techniques sourced from nets, strewn wide over Japan, Thailand and China result in complex plates. See the playful interpretations take shape in dumpling form: five blush-pink prawn dumplings are plump, pillowy and served with an unexpectedly zingy Thai-style tom yum dressing.

The latest Sydney spot to jump on the bandwagon is Parramatta's Lilymu — one of our 15 favourite restaurants in Sydney. And this Parramatta Square eatery is doing things a little differently with a unique selection of food and free-flowing drinks. The dish, while not insanely innovative, was amazing, and I far prefer it to the classic duck pancake dish. The piece de resistance was the char siu style wagyu beef short rib. I was pretty stoked at their branding as a whole, the key to my heart is a colour scheme of black and pink, so when I saw the menu involved the perfect shade of metallic pink, a happy snap was taken. This was super lightly fried, and served with the perfect amount of chilli and coriander the kind that can be removed and not tasted if preferred.
