Since crafting and cooking are some of the main mechanics of this game, it should be no surprise that there are a lot of materials for players to gather. While players do have a chest in their house that can be expanded with house upgrades , it is only one chest. With the third major update for Disney Dreamlight Valley now available, players have some new chests that they can craft to store more items. While the Medium Chest is a significant upgrade over the Small Chest, players in need of even more space will want to craft a Large Chest , and here is how to craft one. Since a Large Chest provides the most amount of slots of all storage furniture in Disney Dreamlight Valley currently, it makes sense that it is also the most difficult to craft as it requires a lot of resources found in biomes unlocked later on in the game. Coal Ore can be found while mining in every single biome, and it periodically shows up at Kristoff's Stall. Of all the materials needed to craft a Large Chest, Dark Wood is the most difficult to obtain as it only drops in the Forgotten Lands. This type of wood spawns infrequently, so it will take players time to gather 25 Dark Wood. Aside from its rarity, Dark Wood tends to blend in very well with the color of the Forgotten Lands. Finally, Dreamlight is gathered by completing duties. Duties require players to do simple tasks like selling items, giving gifts, and cooking recipes. A Large Chest offers the same amount of item slots as the chest in the house when it is fully upgraded. So with a Large Chest, players will have an extra 48 item slots to store whatever they want. Whether it is gems or materials for cooking recipes, a Large Chest will help players with any storage related issues they might have had prior to the latest update in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

But one major frustration I kept running into was filling up my tiny starter chest almost instantly. Between gems, crafting materials, massive pumpkin collections — you need space to store it all! Before we get into the how, let me emphasize why pursuing bigger chests needs to be a top priority…. And with very limited starting storage, your gameplay gets restricted really fast.
