Sindel is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. She made her debut in Mortal Kombat 3. She also served as a secondary antagonist in the Aftermath Story Mode expansion, serving it alongside Shao Kahn. Despite her menacing appearance, Sindel is kind and benevolent in nature, at least in the original timeline. She rules the Realm of Edenia alongside her daughter, Princess Kitana. Sindel's power appears to be of an inner, ethereal nature in more than one way. She is a distinctly older and more mature character, with flowing grey hair and a regal attitude befitting of her role as Queen of Edenia.

One of the greatest elements of the Mortal Kombat movie and what made it so faithful to the games were the hard R fight sequences. The video game series is known for its " fatalities, " which are the creative and vulgar finish moves in which the fights' victors kill their opponents in a grisly manner, whether it be by ripping out their spines or slicing them in half with buzzsaw hats. The Mortal Kombat reboot was full of these creative deaths, which followed equally satisfying fight scenes.
