I need to share with the world what my husband and I just went through with Kiesel guitars. My husband is a guitarist and bought his first Carvin back in So for his birthday, I wanted him to 'build' out his dream guitar. Immediately he wanted a Kiesel. As his wife, I said, "Buy what you want, you deserve it. I am not a guitar person but rather a wife that truly loves her husband more than anything. And to know that I was able to purchase him a custom guitar that he was so excited about meant the world to me. However, Kiesel not only ruined his birthday but also broke my heart. The look of utter disappointment on his face, when he opened a guitar that was not his, was gut-wrenching. That look I will never be able to unsee. Seriously the look of excitement on his face was everything to me.

I wish I'd have known, we just sold one a few months ago.

Kiesel Guitars is an American manufacturer of custom electric guitars and electric bass guitars located in Southern California , with a heritage dating back to In , Kiesel Guitars split from Carvin Corporation , taking the guitar and bass portions of Carvin. Lowell Kiesel founded the L. Kiesel Company in San Diego , California in , to manufacture guitar pickups. Around , it returned to Southern California—and, in , moved to Baldwin Park , California, where the company name changed to Carvin Corporation , after Kiesel's two eldest sons, Car son and Ga vin. In , Jeff Kiesel started working for the company, and in he began to help with design and instrument development.

Kiesel Guitars has announced its new A2 series, debuting an all-new body shape that takes the ergonomics of 21st-century stringed instrument design pretty darn seriously. The A2, aka the Aries 2, takes the Kiesel Aries design for electric guitar and bass guitar and vigorously modernizes it. The A2 does not replace the Aries. Kiesel promises a more comfortable ride, and safe passage to the top end of the fretboard via an extra-sculpted neck heel. Other new features that catch the eye include the Access output jack, which is located on the rear of the body and pointed upwards lest you get your guitar cable caught in something and accidentally yank it out. As ever with Kiesel, the world is your oyster. There is always the option of building your own unique shred machine. The core specs, however, offer plenty of choice. All of the A2 models, guitar and bass, are offered in regular or multiscale configurations, with Hipshot bridges as standard.
