This is a small, inexpensive motorcycle with some surprisingly high-quality components and specifications. It also happens to get fantastic gas mileage, claimed at MPG. For a variety of reasons, I wasn't able to get one of these bikes until this summer. In it underwent an overhaul, and emerged as the EXF still called a Ninja Since , the bike has remained virtually unchanged, with literally fewer than 50 very minor changes having been made over the intervening years. I've used it as a commuter, a country-road carver, and even as a distance tourer. In that time, I've ridden just over 10, miles: I bought the bike with miles on the odometer, and just rolled over 19, miles a week or two ago. This isn't a bike review, but more of a retrospective. For a review, please see my initial review. But, It's So Small! This was my initial concern, before I bought the bike. I remember test-riding a used model at CycleBarn, and being quite impressed at its speed. I was worried, before I rode one, that I might have trouble keeping up with aggressive commute-time traffic, or maintaining speed on hills, or what have you. I figured that loading my pound frame, plus 30ish pounds of riding gear and Stuff, on this little cc, lb bike would be ungainly. Surely such a small motorcycle can't handle a big guy like me! If you know much of anything about this bike, you probably know by now that that's just not true.

The Kawasaki Ninja may not have broken any records or brought any huge innovations to the motorcycling market, but it's one of the more important motorcycles in modern history because it's been responsible for bringing so many new riders into the world of motorcycling. An extremely popular entry-level sport-standard, it was actually Kawasaki's best selling bike for well over a decade. For good reason, in fact; there are no others that come to mind so readily when thinking about value for the money. Having owned two of these bikes over years and racking up tens of thousands of miles between them I feel well equipped to offer an honest an accurate opinion of the motorcycle for those that might be interested in picking one of these workhorses up for themselves. Being a small, entry-level bike means that the machine is very lightweight when compared to the average.

Make Kawasaki. Model Ninja. This motorcycle is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition with a clean California title, and registered to September The tires were just replaced with Pirelli Sport Demons, the carbs were cleaned and the air filter replaced. Ready to ride. I also have some riding gear that can sweeten the deal if it fits. No lowballers please. May be interested in trade or partial trade for small truck, 4x4, guns or??? First full season with these tires. Aftermarket exhaust.

I'm not sure that's a modification I'd make to my next Ninja Aside from being more expensive, fancy tech usually tends to be more diffucult to maintain and repair. Article Talk. I had no idea, when I bought this bike a year and a half ago, how much time, effort and money I'd invest in modifying it. If there is excessive noise check the tensioner and replace if needed.

The seating position is quite comfortable, not leaned over far at all, as befits a beginner's motorcycle.
