Highly regarded for sounding almost identical to a true Maxon OD and with build quality made to last, the JF is leading the charge for high quality clone pedals coming out of China. The Joyo JF is a completely different beast. It is just a genuinely good pedal and it just so happens that it can be picked up for a very reasonable amount of money. The JF stays very true to its inspiration. It can be powered by a standard 9V battery or Boss-style adapter. The green aluminum-alloy enclosure features control knobs for Drive, Tone, and Volume. Joyo has also included true bypass, which in recent years has become quite a popular modification in modern Tube Screamer clones.

By fishingjude October 16, in Effects and Processors. First off - Why are your changing the switch? The one that comes with the pedal is a true bypass. If its failing, have you cleaned it with pot cleaner first? If it hasn't failed yet there's absolutely nothing to be gained by changing it. If it has failed and cleaning hasn't fixed it then you simply need to buy another switch of the same kind, de-solder the old one and re-solder the new one in its place. The only reason to know what the wires do is if the switch and the PCB it mounts to are missing which means your LED is missing too. In order to know which wire goes where you need to have enough experience to signal trace the PCB which you obviously don't by the fact that you're asking You can either use an ohm meter on the switch lugs and figure out how they toggle, then trace where each wire goes by drawing a diagram from the solder lugs of the switch to the wires that connect to the main PCB. The other way is to take an Ibanez schematic and figure out where those components are on the Joyo PCB, then follow the traces to where those white wires connect. The Joyo make it simple with the ribbon cable they use if the switch PCB is used.
Can you confirm? The wires are in order left to right on both boards.

Hello David i have a cuestion, i need replaced de Capacitor 10? Hello, good question, It's not weel explained in my post above. Anyway, the fat switch select from the C10 cap between a nF or nF, but you can experiment other values that may sounds better to you. Hallo,if you can know how much the value of C2 and DO, less clear writing. Hello, D0 is a 1n it's just a reverse current protection diode, C2 is uF. My question is how do I know which one of the wires are the pc in and the pc out coming from the pcb board of the pedal. I need to connect these 2 wires to the new relay module but I cant see anything showing them marked on the pedal. Thanks in advance.

By ColinB , July 14, in Effects. I found this scematic for the TS-5 online, and and then worked out which componants were mapped to which by following the traces on the JF I removed the equivalent diodes D2 and D3, the resistors R18 and R19, and the capacitor C10 from the Joyo circuit board. Here they're labelled up as they would be according to the TS-5 schematic: So I replaced R19 with a 10k ohm resistor, R18 with a 3. I had to solder in the capacitor on the underneath of the board due to size - but there's plenty of space to do that. This makes it so much more useable as a drive pedal on bass. C10 allows more bass through, R18 and 19 allow the drive to be turned right down so the pedal can be used as a clean boost if so required, and the diode combination sound great.

The isolation using a power supply is horrible in mine - background squeal even though there is a ferrite core in the line. I love those re-purposing projects. Can we have everything louder than everything else? In my little world my way makes sense to me but that puts my reference off from yours. Thank you Davide. It may not display this or other websites correctly. Last edited: Jul 13, Sorry - no sound clips, but I'm really pleased with it. The controls for each guitar has to be set slightly different and the oclock settings help me to quickly get back to the last known good sounding settings for that guitar. I've learned not to fully trust bedroom level test. So if the Joyo sounds anything like my 66 I'll be happy. Only makes a difference when you want to record positions and you can always use your own method for that.

Your reference for zero is at the bottom of the circle. Search titles only. Tube Sockets. Is that standard? I am competent at soldering and should be able to carry out the mod once I can identify the correct cap. Share More sharing options Jul 2, Bukidnon, Philippines. Hello, I recdomend follow Paul reply. Dont you think that diodes do less cliping or i dont know how the gain knob is working
Bravo, your idea it is very good
I consider, that you are mistaken. I can defend the position. Write to me in PM, we will talk.
Very amusing idea
