James Mark Cornette born September 17, is an American author and podcaster who has previously worked in the professional wrestling industry as an agent , booker , color commentator , manager , photographer , promoter , trainer , and occasional professional wrestler. Cornette is widely considered to be one of the greatest managers in wrestling history by fans and publications, [8] [9] [10] as well as industry personnel. From to , he was the owner and booker of Smoky Mountain Wrestling , and from to , was the co-owner, head booker, and head trainer of Ohio Valley Wrestling. In , Cornette retired from managing. After the show ended, Cornette was offered a wrestling managerial role on television by promoter Jerry Jarrett. As Cornette has recalled, despite his presence being tolerated at shows and TV tapings for nearly a decade, the first time he was allowed into the locker room was only after he had become a manager.
