Ishizu cards
Ishizu primarily plays an Egyptian Themed Fairy Deck in the anime.
They were introduced in Duelist Pack: Duelists of Pyroxene. The cards considered to be in this series are either the cards that were used by Ishizu Ishtar in the anime, or their retrained versions. They were Normal Monsters in the anime, but became Effect Monsters when released in the card game. Its " Gravekeeper's " connections associate Ishizu's cards with the "Gravekeeper's" archetype. Ishizu commonly uses "Gravekeeper's" cards in video games. Almost all cards in this series gain additional effects if "Exchange of the Spirit" is present on the field or in the GY.

YCS Pasadena's this weekend, and tomorrow the highly anticipated holiday set arrives! It's one of the hottest sets of the year, bringing tons of new support for fan-favorite waifu archetypes. Sky Striker, Witchcrafters, and Mayakashi all get brand-new support cards, as well as a ton of much-needed reprints for those strategies, and many others. Ever since they were confirmed to be in MAMA, the most anticipated cards are actually being anticipated for the wrong reason. So what are the Ishizu cards? They aren't really a theme on their own. Instead, these four new monsters are all upgraded versions of their predecessors from Dark Crisis: Keldo , Agido , Mudora , and Kelbek. But suddenly these four monsters all work together to create a strategy similar to what Ishizu was actually going for when she dueled in the Battle City tournament, in the original anime. Ever since the Ishizu Fairies were released in the OCG, players in Japan have combined them with Tearlaments to create a new variant of the deck; one that starts a deadly series of chains that can be triggered just by milling three cards. These four new, retrained monsters can be separated into two pairs, and they each function similarly to their partner. But they all work together based around the classic card Exchange of the Spirit.

Her strategy revolved completely around the card Exchange of the Spirit , which is a gimmicky trap that swaps both players' decks with the GY. This strategy can either be very beneficial to your opponent, or punish them from holding their resources in their deck too long! The only issue was, the requirements to trigger Exchange of the Spirit was to wait for both players to have 15 cards in their GYs. Even if you managed to top up your GY, it was hard to encourage your opponent to do the same. To summarize, all of Ishizu's cards were either very gimmicky or pointless. And she lost the only duel she ever had on screen. In fact, these retrains are so powerful, they are currently considered the best out of the three archetypes within the set. How does a jumble of cards revolving around a gimmicky trap suddenly become the strongest?
