Model United Nations MUN is an academic program designed to teach students about contemporary events in international relations and politics. Students participating in MUN simulate committees in the United Nations by playing the role of delegates from countries all over the world.

Each MUN Institute program spans one week: Residential students arrive on campus on Sunday and depart on Saturday, and Commuter students attend classes during the day from Monday to Friday. Each day is divided into a series of lessons and activities. Residential students have breakfast on campus at a dining hall. Practice speaking in a quick-paced debate exercise, and learn how to improve your speech structure and speaking style. Engage in a powerful class discussions about the topic, and share your opinion and reactions! Relax and grab some food with your friends in the university dining hall. Learn about Model United Nations procedure, and how to be an effective delegate. Practice all the skills you learned throughout the day in a real Model United Nations simulation. You are representing your assigned country, and now have to work with your class as a United Nations committee to solve a topic of international importance! Work with a small group of other students and your MUN Mentor to reflect on the day and receive honest and constructive feedback on what you have done well and how you can continue to improve.

MUN club activities are an important part of maintaining a Model United Nations team while establishing a positive club atmosphere. Our list of MUN games and classroom activities can be used throughout the year; from MUN icebreakers during the first session, to advanced drills for third and fourth-year MUN club veterans. Model United Nations games can also serve as a welcoming introduction, in contrast to the conventional MUN simulations and lectures throughout the academic year.
