Today October 17, is officially the day that Tony Stark dies. After the Avengers traversed time and space to locate all of the Infinity Stones, they ended up in a final face-off against an earlier version of Thanos. After a fight for the gauntlet, Stark attached the stones to his armor, before snapping his fingers, disintegrating Thanos and his army, and effectively saving the universe. The action took a huge toll on his body due to the gamma radiation and the power of the stones, zapping him of his remaining life force. Stark died on the battlefield surrounded by Peter Parker, Rhodey, and Pepper Potts in the most heartbreaking moment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date.

During October 17, , Tony Stark sacrificed his life to defeat Thanos and thus save the universe from the Mad Titan, who sought to defeat The Avengers of the present after having done so in the past. The death of Iron Man was a hard blow for the rest of the superheroes, who understood the reason for the final fight, so that all of society would return to normal. In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos managed to execute the snap with the Infinity Gauntlet after a tremendous battle that took place on the planet Titan. After a conversation with Potts, where she encouraged him to do the right thing and try to save the fallen, Stark goes to the Avengers center , where they begin to travel through time to gather the infinity gems again and thus redo everything that happened in the previous battle. On that path, Natasha Romanoff also died, sacrificing herself on Vormir to obtain the soul gem. Now in and with all the gems, they realize that Thanos from the one from was dead travels to because the Nebula of that time activated the quantum tunnel that allowed him to travel in time. At that moment is where Tony Stark knows that he is sacrificing himself. Before the final fight, there is an important moment, when Bruce Banner put on the Nano Gauntlet, with which he manages to reverse the snap , so all those who disappeared returned to the present, without knowing what happened to them previously. The decisive battle against Thanos for the fate of the universe began with The Avengers looking to strike first , something that at one point worked, until the villain recovered and revealed to Iron Man, Thor and Captain America that his new objective would be to eliminate the entire population and thus rebuild it in his own image.
