Which thermostat would provide me with the best integration for Home Assistant? I was going to just get an Ecobee; since that seems to be very popular, home assistant thermostat.
Looking for an easy to integrate thermostat that Home Assistant can control. I do not have any Z-Wave or ZigBee devices. Privacy is paramount so I do not want to use Alexa of Google or anything like that to control it. I really am in a quandary and just want to reach out and see what the Home Assistant community has to say. The next model up, the T10, supports that and more but is meant to be installed by a professional you can buy the T10 on Amazon but its warranty is voided if a non-professional installs it.

I did a bit of searching around, but it seems like all of them come with their own set of issues and its tough to find positive things if you search on here anyway. Thank you for the reply and input. Do most WiFi devices inherently require a connection to a cloud-based server and not permit a local-traffic only functionality? They are local only networks that you can use on a local wifi network. Somehow you have to get the signal from the phone to the device, like a light. This works by using a hub like Homeassistant on a Raspberry Pi and having the phone and the RPi be on the same network, you could pull your WAN connection and everything would still work….
