She develops an increasing case of the hots for him and a resentment of his attention to our heroine. She later prepares to seduce him. When step-dad and our heroine return from scavenging firewood and hook up in the car, she does a slow burn and you can see she's going to make a move to eliminate her competition. After step-dad convinces our heroine to come with them, she hatches a plan to get more food for the journey from a nearby house she'd been raiding. Step-dad will act as a decoy while she and hormonal teen sneak in and make off with the chow. While our heroine is busy grabbing the loot, snarky girl clubs her, ties her up, and screams for the zombies to come and get lunch. She then bugs out with the food with the zombies in hot pursuit. Our heroine frees herself, grabs her. Meanwhile Ms. Hormones gets back to camp, tells step-dad that the zombies got our heroine.

It's called Here Alone and is yet another zombie post-apocalyptic survival movie there have been quite a few recentlythis one also involves a plot similar to Z for Zachariah where a young woman surviving on her own encounters two other survivors. This film is monumentally slow and a bit artsy. Scream Factory has given the cult psychological thriller Windows something of an HD upgrade this week with their brand new Blu-ray, and we have several indie titles arriving on both formats as well, including Accidental Exorcist , Here Alone , Bethany, and Awakening the Zodiac. The situation of taking in the Father and Step- daughter was a nice study of group dynamics. Those changing environmental dynamics that characters deal with internally versus the the shambling, undead monsters who represent a more tangible enemy. If not, skip it. After an outbreak that turned the people into zombies, Ann Lucy Walters , her husband Jason Shane West and their baby daughter flee to woods in the place where Jason was raised. All in all, quite a slow burner, with not much substance, but possibly, for some, a step up in the execution. Failing that, a film should at least be informative. When Chris and Olivia are ready to go, Ann suggests that they should scavenge food in a nearby farm.
