Havel the rock
Havel the Rock is an enemy in Dark Souls. At the bottom of the tower before the Taurus Demon boss arena, havel the rock, the player can use the Watchtower Basement Key or the Master Key to find him waiting at the end of the final staircase; alternatively, the tower can be accessed adjacent to havel the rock Hydra's area in Darkroot Basin: when entering, the knight is waiting for the player at the right side of the door. Havel the Rock was a close friend of Gwynand a general in what was presumably Gwyn's army.
Havel the Rock is a dangerous optional sub-boss who guards the bottom of the tower that leads to Darkroot Basin. He was locked in the tower for unknown reasons before the events of Dark Souls. It is known that he was a former bishop of the Way of the White and was close friends with Kingskeeper Frampt and Lord Gwyn. He hates magic, and is the creator of the magic-protecting miracles Magic Barrier and Great Magic Barrier. His hatred of magic is also evident by his attire and weapon, both of which are focused on physical protection and physical damage. His armor set and ring are highly valuable tools for players as the former offers a large amount of protection, while the latter increases the amount a player can carry effectively as long as it is equipped. The armor set is not dropped by Havel, but can be found in another location.

Havel, the Rock was a bishop of the Way of White. He was a close friend of Lord Gwyn and fought alongside him. His gear also has high magic resistances to combat magic threats. In an indeterminate time before the event of the game, he became Hollow and was locked in the watchtower for his own good. Havel The Rock is a very difficult enemy when first encountered. He wields the Dragon's Tooth and will kill most low-level players in one hit. If you have a decent shield, his attacks will not break your guard. With 20 endurance and the Eagle Shield , you can block his strikes and attack while he recovers. Wait until Havel finishes an attack and then run in front of him. Stand there with shield lowered and parry-riposte every attack. If you equip a small shield like Cracked Round Shield , the time window for parrying increases compared to when using larger shields, thus giving you a larger margin for error and probably making this the easiest and fastest method for disposing of Havel. Once rispoted, immediately target Havel again.

Havel was likely a member of Gwyn's army during the Age of Fire, creating a question about why he deferred to Gwyn later in life.
Havel the Rock is a powerful opponent found at the bottom of the spiral watchtower leading up to the Taurus Demon in the Undead Burg , guarding the entrance to Darkroot Basin. He wields a massive dragon's tooth hammer and Havel's Greatshield while wearing the heavy Havel's Set. While somewhat slow moving due to his heavy gear, his attacks deal incredible damage to unwary opponents, and his armor and shield protect him from all but the strongest counter attacks. Havel is aggressive, and will pursue you on sight a fairly far distance within the general confines of his tower. It is unclear whether he was the head Bishop of the order or whether he deferred to Allfather Lloyd, the patriarch of Thorolund itself. Havel was likely a member of Gwyn's army during the Age of Fire, creating a question about why he deferred to Gwyn later in life. Havel is not Gwyn's uncle.

Havel the rock
Created from an everlasting dragon tooth. Legendary great hammer of Havel the Rock. Dragon Upgrades may be performed by any Blacksmith, as long as you have the required materials. To reach max, you need: 50, souls and 10 Dragon Scales. Now you've really got to wonder what absolute unit of a Dragon this tooth must have belong to before Havel took it as a weapon, Like the thing is bigger than a Great Club, which for reference is a tree log used as a weapon, I'm gonna assume Havel being the gigachad that he is took the tooth of a great Archdragon and used it as his weapon of choice. This weapon is absolutely ludicrous in the best possible way! Smashy smashy! I can do damage with 47 strength two handed so something is wrong here, or I got some. It's not the most powerful weapon in the world, but it's still a good weapon.

After falls, he will die. Havel was likely a member of Gwyn's army during the Age of Fire, creating a question about why he deferred to Gwyn later in life. Very effective for NG Poison strategy This strategy will help to kill him without actually having to fight him or use another strategy that will put you in harms way. Havel's Greatshield Greatshield of the legendary Havel the Rock. Enemies Bosses Merchants Blacksmiths. This coating greatly boosts magic defense, assisting warriors who must face the magic which Bishop Havel countered so proficiently. Sprint down the stairs and around Havel, and out the door he was standing next to. Dark Souls II. For this strategy you need to be locked on to him non-stop, so don't get too much of a distance between you two. A legendary dragonslayer, clad in armor hewn from solid rock wielding a magic infused shield also made of stone, and the gargantuan tooth of a dragon as a club. Havel spotted a random boulder and was like: "perfect material for my shield and armour". As with other enemies of this kind, he will not respawn once he has been defeated in this location.
Havel the Rock is one of the few exceptions for common hollows throughout all the Soulsborne games aside from Demon's Souls and anything prior. Once a bishop for the Way of White , Havel scoffed at the concept of sorcery, and had a deep-seated hatred towards the dragons of Lordran. This sent him off in search for the armor of a once gargantuan army of warriors known as the "Havel Knights", who had fought in the battle against man and dragons.
Dodge and Backstab The main drawback of the Lure and Strike strategy is that it often takes a long time to lure Havel towards the door over and over again. Others suggest that the 'dear friend' was Gwyn, before he himself turned hollow trying to protect Havel. Havel despised magic as well as Seath the Scaleless. The Dragon Head Stone's flame breath has more than enough range so that the Havel's attacks can be dodged by a simple backstep or side roll. When he raises his weapon, back off, let him retreat behind the wall and repeat. Backstab Strategy Fighting Havel is simple, but tedious. He should die within 3 or 4 hits. Make sure that Havel either goes straight to the door or straight behind the door and not at you. This little link implies that it was indeed Lord Gwyn who locked Havel away once he turned hollow, or maybe he turned hollow after being imprisoned. He should lose interest and head back to his starting position.
