The race was delayed by around 15 minutes after protesters from Animal Rising got on to the track. Corach Rambler grabbed the lead over the last hurdle and then pulled away from a final test launched by Vanillier and Gaillard Du Mesnil, who finished second and third. He loves everything that he does. Corach Rambler, in our hearts, is just the best horse. Now in the public hearts he is as well. To win the National, I know how important it is, I know how it changed my life with [One For] Arthur — for Corach to achieve that too is just fantastic. Derek Fox steered favourite Corach Rambler to a superb triumph as he won the Grand National for a second time. Fox teamed up with trainer Lucinda Russell, six years after they first tasted victory together with One For Arthur. The year-old Irish jockey was only passed fit by doctors on the morning of the race. Corach Rambler jumped into the lead over the last fence and held off a closing Vanillier to become only the third Scottish-trained winner. Corach Rambler won the headline Grand National race at Aintree to give trainer Lucinda Russell and jockey Derek Fox their second victory in the famous race. The start of the world famous race was delayed by 14 minutes after a small group of animal rights protesters breached the Aintree perimeter and got onto the track to cause disruption. They had to be removed before the race was allowed to start but once it did there was no interruption of the action. After a catalogue of blunders on the first circuit the race settled down with Mister Coffey, trying to give Nicky Henderson an elusive first win, taking up the running. But he was a sitting duck for Corach Rambler who was travelling noticeably strongly and had the race in safe keeping once sent on by Fox, winning by two and a quarter lengths.
Mister Coffey and Coko Beach led early on and throughout most of the thrilling race. But chaotic scenes early on saw a number of fallers, including Lifetime Ambition, who was taken out by a loose horse at fence 9. However, Corach Rambler, ridden by Derek Fox and trained by Lucinda Russell took the lead from Mister Coffey over the final fence and kicked for home to record a memorable win. The race had been delayed after protestors breached the Aintree racecourse fence and got on to the course. The Grand National attracted criticism from animal rights protestors in the build-up, with three arrests made in connection with potential co-ordinated disruption activities at Aintree, which became nine following the pre-race disruption.

Before the starting orders had been set, there was drama at Aintree as animal rights protestors made their way onto the famous course and attempted to attach themselves to fences. Ultimately, the showpiece was delayed by around 15 minutes with police making several arrests and quickly assessing the course was safe for all involved. Once things got underway, Corach Rambler and Fox were happy to stick in the pack with Mister Coffey doing much of the running before he faded over the final fences. The two-time Cheltenham Festival winner was travelling supremely away from the front and when Fox decided to move, Corach Rambler made its way through the field before taking the lead on the final fence.
