Gopro overheating
I've seen numerus posts here and elsewhere about how to deal with the known GoPro overheating issue.
A cold-weather battery pack is on the way, too. GoPro's Hero 10 Black camera is loaded with things that produce heat -- its processor, battery pack, displays, sensors and more. Crank up the performance and those things produce even more heat. In its compact, watertight body, there's not much place for that heat to go, especially if it's sitting still with no airflow and continuously recording at high resolutions and frame rates. And while this might not be how most GoPro owners use their cameras, that doesn't make it right for those things to cause the Hero 10 to overheat and shut down.

I just bought my Go Pro Hero 10 and been using the video to record my volleyball games that is usually minutes each game. Does anyone else experience this? It sucks that it always cuts off towards the end of each games. It's going to depend on what settings you're using and how you have the camera set up. If powering externally, ,remove the internal battery first. Here's a video that shows you how to prevent overheating issues. I think you have over charged the camera. As it need to be plug out from the charger when the battery of the camera full. As over charging causes such issues. Don't worry now make the full use of the camera battery and when it become empty so charge it upto normal level.
It might help if you gave a description of what you're shooting and how the camera is set up not just settings, but if the camera mounted, gopro overheating, moving etc. Don't mount the camera behind your windscreen, otherwise you'll just have the hot gopro overheating beating down on it adding to the camera heat. Good question.
I'm planning to order a camera, but the still not decided which one should I ordedr Hero 11 or Action 3. I had Hero 9 with audio pops issues , but it was stolen, so I need new one. I read a lot of regarding overheating issue. I know, some of you will say, that's consumer problem, but still I had never had any issue with hero9 regarding this. Will it overheat in 4K 30fps and 2.
GoPro is issuing a firmware update that includes new "video performance modes. The company is also unveiling a new "Enduro" battery that should improve performance in cold weather. Soon after the launch of the Hero 10, some reviews complained that their cameras were overheating and turning off after around 20 minutes of continuous recording. The problem didn't seem to be universal, in our review I performed such a test before hearing of said complaints and was able to get over an hour of footage. Other detailed tests also didn't initially bump into the issue. But enough users were having the problem that the company clearly had to take note. The first in that list sounds much like the current mode. Extended Battery, as the name suggests, provides optimal settings for longer battery life. The latter assumes that the camera will not be moving and thus removes things like GPS and HyperSmooth stabilization to, presumably, ease the load on the new processor in situations where there's no motion or airflow to cool the camera down. According to GoPro, with the new firmware, a 5.

GoPro customer service said that the only way to keep the camera from overheating was to limit my video to 30fps. So what can I expect when I have the camera on my helmet in the summer and record with Hyper.. Actually I don't need 5. It's 65 degrees F in my house. I am looking to not upgrade or use more until this is resolved, or I will move to something else and adapt a different camera completely. Thank you! Not all these tasks are necessary for cooler settings or filming shorter clips. Normal indoor usage at 4K 60 L began to overheat at 22 mins. Please consider creating a new thread. What an absolute joke this is. For cameras that feature unique high-performance video modes: 2. Related Questions Nothing found. Many other cameras are the same - part of the parcel when you are packing such high performance into a small physical frame I'm afraid. When I got the 10 and was able to record at 5K60 I was excited until it overheated. I put the camera on a table in my apartment and tested a video recording with 5.
GoPro overheating? It can actually feel too hot to touch sometimes.
We hate this device and all of the money that we spent on overpriced supplies and equipment. It's fine if you use a camera stationery, but it completely defeats the purpose of "action camera". They are warped and damaged from trying to help you guys figure out the GoPro 11 issues instead of doing a proper recall!!!! When I got the 10 and was able to record at 5K60 I was excited until it overheated. Stop shilling your video no one wants that trash. Does it matter which mode or resolution settings were used? I came here originally hoping to find people who could tell me they have never had problems or the problems can be easily overcome. Looking forward to see your results. The hero 10 is a scam. Considering this was also in a thick plastic housing which would have been an oven for 20 minutes it lasted until it's battery ran out. You can sign up to be notified when its available on GoPro's site. If ALL of them were bad , you would see 40 million complains on the internet and Gopro would go bancrupt long time ago.
